Major League Fantasy Sports

A near sighted vision is realized

I would like to thank everyone who took their time to consider us this year. It was a long four month journey through message boards, trolls, idiots, jerks, phone calls, texts, emails, and lost entry checks in the mail. The lost checks in the mail are always a way of saying, “I have not got it out yet, but I want you to think I did.” Of course there is the occasional mistake by our postal service. I do not think people understand the amount of work it took to find 32 losers who eat, drink, and sleep fantasy sports the way we do. I literally feel like I am free again! Free to actually enjoy the fruits of my labor, and participate like an owner. I always enjoy doing the draft videos though. Maybe it’s because I am so good looking, and have such a great voice that its hard to stop watching! In all seriousness, this was a great accomplishment for the future of Major League Fantasy Sports. I have wrapped up goal #1 for this year, and I will be focusing on goal #2. Goal #2 is to grow our following on the blog so that our writers can get the exposure they deserve. They all have a great sense of writing, are very entertaining, and have a great base of knowledge from different angles. This will help us build a large footprint on the web, which will shorten my time commitment for recruiting by a long shot, as well as grow the brand we have created over the last 6 years. The reason our leagues are so unique is the people I find through all that work, and the same goes for our blog authors for that matter. Like any great idea, it will only come to fruition through constructing the right group of like-minded individuals with the same passion & drive. On top of that, you need a great sense of comradery among the group to sustain a long-term plan. I encourage people to call their fellow owners and introduce yourselves. Getting comfortable with everyone in the league will help provide that transparency that is needed for a system such as ours. Those who have not discussed with me what my plans are for the near future are probably asking themselves, “Why is he putting in so much time to do this?” I have so many ideas on how we can grow this network into something special, but I had to see if their were enough people out there that shared this vision, and would be willing to participate. We all have lives, jobs, families, and an insatiable hunger for fantasy sports. The help that I would ask from all of you is very easy. Help us spread the word by telling other friends & family who are sports nuts about us. Help support the writers on the blog by liking their articles, leaving a comment, or sharing them on Facebook, Twitter, or any other social networking tool. We are progressing at a rapid pace this year on our blog. We have quadrupled our following in just nine weeks of promoting it with a steady vigor. With just a small amount of help from every one of you, we would progress even further to the point that growth will be autonomous. I am excited for what the future holds. Thank you to everyone who came on board, and especially to Andy, Joe, Marc, Matt, Ben, Bill, and Louis for making our website sparkle with your intellect.

Also, for those interested in joining Major League Fantasy Football 3 this year, let me know and I will put you on the waiting list. It is a brand new league in which I have already had 20 people tell me they wanted in. Major League Fantasy Football 2 was our newest last year, which will have no turnover like league 1. It is a very tight-knit group like the baseball leagues, so let me know via email, phone call, or comment on this post.

Good read cory, i haven’t gotten to read all of the blogs from the new writers but from what i have read i found to be well written and entertaining. Im not so much into baseball as i am football so that may have some to do with it but like i said before I cant wait to play in league 2 this year and am excited to see what your plans are with the league growing its foundation and becoming much more. Its cool that league three is already on a waiting list, thats a good omen. You ever thought about startin’ a fantasy basketball league? I think we talked about it before but cant recall. Anyways peace and keep an eye out for the lost check i just mailed out you redskin fan SOB!

LOL, I have thought about Basketball for sure. I did put a free one together in 09 that fizzled out because of the time commitment elsewhere. I would like to again in the future, but I need the resources to do so.

Happy to be part of it all! Can you please put me on the fantasy football list? Also I would be the first in line for a fantasy hockey league!

No problem Shawn. Keep an eye out for the piece I release in late April early May. I have several people asking about Hockey. I would not mind I would just have to find a little help in running them.
