“Powell Gets Defensive” — Major League Fantasy Football 2014
What a crazy week for dynasty football!! Rookie drafts and start-ups are going strong as many league managers just can’t wait to get the drafts going, even though we have 75 days until the season actually starts, but we are all playing by the same rules, so for me it is good to get a few out-of-the-way so I can concentrate on the ones that start much closer to the season. I have also enjoyed working with quite a few of you die hards on your drafts as well on twitter and email. I always try to put myself in your shoes and offer you the same advice as I would give myself. Sometimes, I wish I would listen to myself so I can just be a bit better, but I do pretty well anyway.
Last week, we started getting into majorleaguefantasysports.com and the leagues that are offered on this site. The league rules allow defense to be as important as offense, so a manager has to know both sides of the ball very well. Scoring rules makes linebackers as important as running backs, so a balanced roster is essential in building a winner. Another important facet is that you keep only 3 players year to year, which to me is a great way to keep owners coming back. How many times does a League Manager have to replace four or five teams because they traded away all their picks the next two years, and then try to recruit guys to pay the fees for a team destitute of talent and no picks. Who wants that?
The team roster is as follows: 21 starters, 8 bench, and 4 injured reserve.
Starters: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB/WR, 1 WR/TE, 1 K, (10 offense)
2 DE, 1 DT, 3 LB, 2 CB, 2 S, 1 FLEX DEF (11 def)
OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE FLEXIBILITY!!!
I love this setup with only 8 bench. I can’t tell you how many leagues want to have the benches even
larger than the starting lineup, making it impossible for a team to find any quality off of waivers, making it difficult to keep any league balance, and eventually killing the league with imbalance and owners who stop visiting and leave the league. There is so much to like about the leagues offered through majorleaguefantasysports.com and site owner Corey D. Roberts. The attention to detail and the tools provided on the site by Corey and our great team of writers will make a most amazing experience for enthusiasts who want to take their game to the next level, to go up against 11 other hardcore guys who want to be the best also. I am in Major League Fantasy Football 4. Next year I want to be in the MLFF Champions League!!!
