Have you been playing fantasy football for years and ever wondered how you can get a better experience? Have you ever questioned the legitimacy of the standard model? Have you said to yourself, “Gee, maybe I would enjoy this more if there wasn’t so much blind luck involved and my opponents took this as seriously as I do?” Ever asked yourself if there is an organization that takes the best of fantasy sports, which includes the excitement of the actual game itself? Or asked if there is a group that takes it to the next level with live radio shows, unique scoring, unique roster formulas, and strips down the blind luck to the point of insignificance?
If those are questions you have asked yourself, then look no further than Major League Fantasy Sports. We are a tight-knit community that includes live radio shows, our own unique writing content, our own tried and true scoring models, independent commissioners, and 100% payout structure. We pride ourselves in finding the “right” people to join the group, whether it is being a league owner or a writer. What we don’t do is bring in any random person to the group. They must be vetted to make sure that we are a good fit for them and vice-versa.
Our leagues are a blend of several different concepts. It effectively blends re-draft, keeper, dynasty, and DFS. We have 29 man rosters, an 8 man bench, 9 Offensive players, 11 Defensive, 1 Kicker, 5 man Keeper (3 offense, 2 Defense), and Full Point PPR. Those are the basics of the structure, and I can tell you it is extremely fun to play to say the least. The way we have the model structured limits the issue of having a key player or two going down to injury during a game to almost nil. Players becoming injured during a game is blind luck that is out of your control. The other nice thing is our roster model, which allows for maximum flexibility when building your own team. Gone are the days of every team being able to attain two top end running backs to roster in the new NFL. We pride ourselves as a whole in staying ahead of the curve when it comes to this type of situation. How many teams run a single back set anymore? How many have a two back set? And even more precarious is the dreaded three back set, that was used by a handful of teams last year. I think it’s safe to say the writing is on the proverbial wall. What sense does it make to play in an archaic model that does not adapt to the changing climate in the pros? This leads to even MORE blind luck, which does not decipher the best owner, only the most fortunate.
Another fun aspect of our group is we also hold a private DFS contest once a week for our owners, radio guests, and writers. It will be anywhere from 10-30 people playing per week. Depending on the size, we do a top 3 or top 5 pay out structure. It’s much more fun and fair playing DFS this way than the alternative. Of course, this is completely voluntary on your part. Draft Kings hosts our contest and handles collection and disbursement of funds. Of course, you can’t live in states where it is illegal to play DFS and participate.
If you are interested in joining our writing staff for 2016, we have one spot available. You will be given your own feature day every week. You will also be given spots on our live radio shows on Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights. Obviously not every week, but this will be another feature. We currently have a total crew of nine writers and two editors.
We have a wonderful group of friends and partners throughout the industry which includes Ron Shandler, Lenny Melnick, Real Deal Dynasty Sports, Davin Joseph, Sports Palooza Radio, Sports Buffet Radio, The Infirmary Report, and White River Graphics. You can check our show archives for baseball and football by clicking the linked words.
There is so much more to discuss about our organization to be sure. So if you are interested in joining the leagues or being a writer, fill out the form below. If a non-working phone number is listed, we will bypass your submission (I am the only person who can see the form below. No one can see your phone number or anything else). My personal contact information will be listed below the contact form. Thank you for your time.
