“James Addiction” Wide Receiver/Running Back Start ‘Em (Season Long/DFS) Week #10

In Week 9 in the NFL the most memorable images that come to mind are A.J. Green trying to get Jalen Ramsey to tap out and Mike Evans’ shove to the back of Marshon Lattimore which has earned him a suspension in Week 10. The best audio of the week has to go to Jameis Winston for his “eat a W” pre-game speech, huh? However on the field there were some great games as well with the best running back performance going to Adrian Peterson and the best receiver performance going to TY Hilton.

In Week 10 we start with the on again suspension for Ezekiel Elliot, and this time he doesn’t seem to have a path to play, at least in Week 10. This led me to start Alfred Morris on one of my running back spots with a good matchup against Atlanta. The rest of my starts are below…

(Week 10 Byes: Ravens, Chiefs, Raiders, Eagles)

Wide Receivers

Marvin Jones – Detroit vs Cleveland (Draft Kings $6,200 / Fan Duel $6,400) – I like both Marvin Jones and Golden Tate again this week. Cleveland is pretty good against the run (4th) and Detroit isn’t much of a running team, so Detroit will look to move the ball against Cleveland’s 17th ranked passing defense and will find success. The stat sheets for Jones and Tate will be full in Week 10.

Adam Thielen – Minnesota @ Washington (Draft Kings $6,700 / Fan Duel $7,000) – Washington has some good players in the secondary in Norman, Breeland and Fuller, but they rank just below Cleveland in passing defense at seventeen. I think Adam Thielen will be targeted more than teammate Stefon Diggs for Minnesota this week and should have a floor of 12 points in PPR leagues.

Robby Anderson – NY Jets @ Tampa Bay (Draft Kings $5,200 / Fan Duel $6,500) – Anderson has a touchdown in three straight games, though his yardage totals were insignificant in two of those contests. This week the 30 ranked passing defense, Tampa Bay, should allow him to improve on the previous yardage totals resulting in above average points for your fantasy teams.

JuJu Smith-Schuster – Pittsburgh @ Indianapolis (Draft Kings $5,600 / Fan Duel $6,500) – The Colts have the 31st ranked passing defense, ahead of only the New England Patriots, and have also released their best corner this week in Vontae Davis. Antonio Brown should have a field day this week and Juju Smith-Schuster shouldn’t be that far behind. I wouldn’t expect a repeat of Week 8, because this game should be out of hand early in the second half and Pittsburgh may be content to run the ball, but I still want Smith-Schuster in my lineups.

Robert Woods – LA Rams vs Houston (Draft Kings $5,000 / Fan Duel $6,200) – Woods, Kupp and even Sammy Watkins should be able to produce in this matchup. Houston, if lead by Tom Savage or T.J. Yates, will not be able to keep up with the Rams. Woods has been the best of the bunch of late and should continue to see a high percentage of the targets against Houston’s 21st ranked passing defense.

Running Backs

Jerick McKinnon – Minnesota @ Washington (Draft Kings $6,600 / Fan Duel $6,600) – Washington is in the middle of the pack in rushing defense and should be able to limit big plays in Minnesota’s rushing offense, but McKinnon is also dangerous as a receiver out of the backfield and that’s where he should get most of his points this week. Washington does have some excellent pass rushers and McKinnon will be a great option on Case Keenum’s check downs. I’d expect close to 100 yards combined rushing and receiving this week for McKinnon.

Alvin Kamara – New Orleans @ Buffalo (Draft Kings $6,900 / Fan Duel $7,000) – Buffalo has the 8th ranked rushing defense and will be looking to rebound at home after last week’s loss against the NY Jets. I like Kamara to outpoint Mark Ingram again this week, doing a lot of damage in the passing game.

Alfred Morris – Dallas @ Atlanta (Draft Kings $5,500 / Fan Duel $5,400) – It looks as though Alfred Morris will finally get some extended playing time this week (at the time of publication). Morris has looked good with his limited carries this year and is the most talented runner that will be active on the roster. He may come out of the game on 3rd down, but he should do enough with his snaps to help Elliot owners somewhat forget the loss of Ezekiel Elliot.

James White – New England @ Denver (Draft Kings $4,200 / Fan Duel $4,600) – Denver has dropped from 2nd to 5th in rushing defense over the last two weeks. New England doesn’t really have a workhorse running back though and will split the carries among as many as four running backs. In the passing game, Chris Hogan is still out at receiver which should lead to James White receiving a higher target share than he has the last few weeks, and he could provide as many as 7 to 10 receptions as he did in weeks 4 and 5.

Running Back Tandem

Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams – Miami @ Carolina (Draft Kings $4,800, $4,700 / Fan Duel $5,400, $5,800)

I didn’t like many of the running back tandem options this week. I don’t feel too confident in both Drake and Williams this week either, but my thought is they also could be heavily involved in the passing game. Now that Jay Ajayi is no longer a Dolphin I think Cutler will check down to the running backs often. He couldn’t do that with Ajayi because Ajayi would either miss his block or not get open, whereas Drake and Williams are better suited to the offense. Carolina has a pass rush which should force Cutler to check down to the running back often this week and Drake and Williams should both benefit.

I grew up a Dallas Cowboy's fan in Washington Redskins' country, but I currently reside in Florida. I have played fantasy sports since 1999, but have narrowed it down to football only over the last few years. I have a beautiful daughter that keeps me busy and feeling young, and in my free time I write for Major League Fantasy Sports, play golf and spend time on outdoor activities.
